Update to the Update

Quick update, because I’m trying to get some actual work done here:

I am alive. Allie is alive. Biscuit is alive. My symptoms have passed. Fevers are gone. Life is good. Yes, I have spent some very angry time active on social media for non-gaming related things. That is over with. It’s not healthy for me. I got it out of my system. I stand by what I said. But I am drastically limiting my interactions on that topic going further. No worries.

Articles are coming. Tuesday or Wednesday, you get an adventure builder’s checklist coming. I’m going to limit early access to “the day before” right now and I hope my Patrons will forgive me. I want to get my content out as quickly as I can to the masses. Thursday or Friday, you get a guide to starting an online gaming if you’ve never done it before and if you hate online gaming. Because that’s the only guide I’m qualified to write.

Next week, you get an article about emotional engagement in games and one about magic item crafting. Don’t know the days yet. They’re coming.

Quick Update to the Update to Update (4/22/20): These days are off by a day or two. I’ve got the adventure building checklist going through revision/rewrite now. It’ll be tomorrow or early to mid Friday. The other articles will follow appropriately. I set a very aggressive schedule on myself and I’m still not fully recovered from my illness. A livestream benefit for my Patrons/supporters took a lot more effort than I expected. And I wanted to make sure that the contest announcement went live today, so I made sure that got done first. In the unlikely event I can’t deliver all four articles in the next week and a bit, Patrons will NOT be charged for articles undelivered and I will chalk it up to having to take 2+ weeks off sick. Things will be back on a normal schedule in May.

Wednesday this week, I will be announcing a fun little mapping contest now that I’ve secured the prizes and had contact with the companies in question. Sorry that got delayed. There’s a sniffle going around slowing everything down.

Tuesday night at 9:00 PM EDT, my Patrons will be able to join a live stream on my Discord wherein I have three masochists willing to compete in my own Angry version of D&D related Jeopardy. There will be a prize for the winner.

I will announce further live streams as I can. I am going to try to have at least one live stream on Discord each week. If I can manage it, I am also going to try to have one Twitch stream a week right now for non-followers to hang out. That’s a little harder to pull off given the logistics of things in our house right now.

That is all. Thanks for your support and patience. Stuff is coming.

  1. Glad you’re doing better.

As someone who’s struggling with parts of running games online, the rest of this announcement is also very welcome.

  2. Such a quick update it doesn’t even have a header image! Now that’s unexpected.

As I said before, it’s fine. Given all that’s going on, it’s understandable. I feel like telling you to take it easy is the wrong thing to do; you come across as one of those people with a work ethic where taking it easy – even if justified – just won’t do.

I hope those livestreams go up someplace for later listening, so I can listen to them in my terrible European timezone… 🙁

  3. Glad you’re well- take care of yourself, Allie and Biscuit, and post content whenever it feels right to do so. Keep yourself sane, healthy and happy, and we’ll take what we can get whenever you feel up to posting.

  4. Very glad to hear you’re doing well! Reading your articles is always one of the highlights of my day, so talking about the stuff you’ll be putting out (as well as a general time table) is really appreciated.

Godspeed, and thanks for all the content!

  5. Happy to hear you’re healthy again. I’m looking forward to more Angry articles! You’re the best (and only) RPG advice I read these days.

  6. Twitter is a cesspool, but I hope after such a deserved lashing, the people who wanted to go Stasi on you for a retweet will think twice before they try bullying someone else.
