Checking in…

Two weeks ago, I insisted everything was fine and nothing was broken and that I was merely recovering from a serious bout of illness. Then nothing. I’m sorry about that. I basically said, “No, no, don’t worry; I’m not actually dying…” and then was never seen nor heard from again.

I am alive. Content will be spilling forth over the next few days so you get the August Features. You’ll get the Variant Initiative write-up, a couple of things about Adventure Design, and a little rant about a problem with VTTs that you may not have ever considered a problem that also isn’t a condemnation of running games online or a screed about how VTTs are the worst, I swear.

For supporters, I have a Live Chat recording to post in a few minutes. That’ll give you some more insight into what’s been going on and it’ll also include a long discussion about initiative systems in D&D and why I ended up throwing out the initiative article until the chat talked me into redoing it and publishing it. I shit you not.

For Frienemy-tier supporters, sometime in the next few days, you’ll get a two-hour Slapchat recording — there were some audio issues, but my diligent volunteer audio editor, Rattercrash is cleaning it up — which starts off disheartening but then turns into a two hour, “Let’s revolutionize melee combat systems in roleplaying games together, one step at a time,” design discussion.

Meanwhile, I will put out a longer announcement on this with some links, but i’ve been doing some tinkering on the site to clean up some of the issues have been raised. I still have more to do, but as of now, the Site Archive has been fixed and all articles and columns — but not bullshit news updates like this — are listed in chronological order and the True Scenario Designery Index has been similarly repaired for completeness.

Better still, I’ve been tinkering with RSS feeds in response to some of my follower’s requests. If you want to get my content through your RSS feed reader, well, you can get some of it now already.

There is a General Access RSS feed at https://theanrgrygm.com/feed that updates whenever I post anything to the main page.

There is not yet an Eary Access RSS feed. There are some technical limitations based on my workflow, but I am working on a solution.

Some have also asked for a specific feed just for the True Scenario Designery series. Well, it’s at https://theangrygm.com/tag/true-scenario-designery/feed/. There are also feeds for True Campaign Managery, even though that series is on hold right now, at https://theangrygm.com/tag/true-campaign-managery/feed/ and one for True Game Mastery as well if you want to back and read that series in your feed reader. There’s still work to be done to clean up the site and make it more navigable, but I am making progress. See? I told you fuckers it was on the list and I was working on it, didn’t I?

I’m not going to pretend I didn’t backslide a bit compared to July. I definitely lost some of the ground I gained. But I have been chugging away in the background on lots of things and I continue to chip away at the list of things to get back on track with following the Year of Hell and, if I work my ass off for the next few days, none of these issues have to spill into September.
