All right, it’s crunch time! In just three weeks, on June 19, The Angry GM: The Website: The Book will start funding on Kickstarter! And, man, is it going to be great! It’s going to be the greatest collection of GMing advice since this website. And it’ll be just perfect for experienced GMs, inexperienced GMs, aspiring GMs, and even people who barely know what a GM is.

Now, I know you’re so f$&%ing excited that you can’t possibly wait until June 19 to find out what’s going to be in this amazing book and to start flinging your unbridled support at it. Well, I can’t let you fling any support right now, but I can promise to keep you apprised of all of the latest, exciting developments in the process of the finishing of the writing of the said book and the further process of the launching of the crowdfunding campaign for the said book. So, if you want regular updates about this amazing book, go ahead and just stick your e-mail address in the field below and press the button.

And if you’re already signed up to receive updates from this website, you’re already signed up to receive those updates too. But you can opt out by clicking unsubscribe when you get the welcome message and it won’t affect your signup to my regular website updates.

Whatever happens, on June 19th, this mailing list goes away and it won’t bother you anymore. After that, you’ll be able to get your updates directly from Kickstarter.com.

  1. I’d love to support your book…. Unfortunately I’ll be out of the country and likely without internet. damn. I’ll support you in spirit for all that’s worth?!

  2. Good luck with the part-time job you’re picking up! Fortunately you’re using Kickstarter correctly, to gather resources for the purpose of publishing and distributing content that already exists, so the Kickstarter itself should just be a matter of PR and hype management consuming your every waking hour for a month, without the impossible campaign promises that haunt you for several years afterward.
As much as I’m sure people would love for this Kickstarter to be for The Angry RPG, there’s a big difference between what people think they want and what they actually want, almost as big a difference as with what they need.

  3. Just let me know when the Kickstarter goes live, and I’ll be there. Hopefully I’ll bring friends with me.

    • Yes. Details are still forthcoming, but this isn’t a one-and-done Kickstarter. I’m not selling a book on Kickstarter, I’m publishing a book. That’s why I’m working with a publisher – Third Act Publishing – and not just putting out the thing myself. I’ll let you know more as the details of distribution get finalized.

  4. What initially attracted me to this site and kept bringing me back is how Angry codifies what no one else is codifying. I think he mentioned before he worked in accounting or finance, and I think a lot of people in that field have that sort of brain (I married one). I’m expecting more of the same from the book and I can’t wait to back it.

    • You know, I was about to say that the book is going to be less focused on mechanics and on adventure design and more focused on helping newer and inexperienced GMs find their footing. And then I realized that I literally told new GMs precisely how to think about action adjudication in a systematic way, how to focus their first games on building the most basic skills, and then define a series of advanced skills to work on. So… okay… you win this round.

  5. I’m looking forward to this book! Not only am I happy to get a single volume of work with all of the great stuff you’ve written on gaming, I will also have a way that fits my budgeting to provide some support for The Angry GM in a financial way (and not just likes and reposts). Thanks!

  6. Will a PDF be available? I exist solely as a incorporeal entity connected to the Internet and have no use for a physical book.
