The Angry GM’s GameholeCon Seminars

December 3, 2019

So, a couple of weeks ago, I delivered a pair of seminars at GameholeCon VII in Madison, Wisconsin. And I recorded the things so I could eventually get them posted over on YouTube on a brand new Angry Games YouTube channel. Neat, right? Well, unfortunately, I had some technical difficulties and I didn’t end up with a useful video recording either seminar. But fortunately, the quick thinking Tiny GM mad a backup audio recording of both seminars. And through the magic of some amateur-level audio editing and a still image with a audio visualization animation layered in, I can share the seminars after all. And you’re not missing anything with the video. It’s basically me just standing at the front of a room trying to limit my pacing so as not to collide with an inconvenient table or wander out of the camera frame. So, just picture someone shuffling back and forth, bumping into a table, and trying to figure out what to do with his hands.

  1. “So, just picture someone shuffling back and forth, bumping into a table, and trying to figure out what to do with his hands”. In my head, you’re also wearing your twitter header outfit. Sssssmoky.

  2. Great seminars! I was able to catch the ten words seminar, and listening to the first one, I think it’s a must listen for new GMs. Why on earth does no game mention the simple ways of running a game that you talk about here? You’re right, pretty much any game boils down to this. Good stuff!

  3. Everything I wanted and more!
I’ll relisten to that second one a few times, just to make sure the ideas stick well. Podcasts made me one-ear-in-one-ear-out to most audio.
