Dear readers, fans, supporters, and friends…
I know haven’t checked in a while and that the site seems to have gone dark. I’ve had short bursts of activity in my Discord server with my supporters, but beyond that, I’ve been totally quiet. Posts stopped moving from Early Access to General Access and Early Access posts continue to appear in content bursts rather than with any kind of regularity. People have reached out to me and received no reply. Comments have speculated that I’ve stopped publishing content for a general audience of that I have died.
The truth is, I experienced a crisis point with regards my to my health. Physical and mental. It’s not something I feel comfortable providing too many details about, but I also want to be as transparent as possible. Especially with regards to my mental health. Mental health issues are nothing to be ashamed over and people need to know that. Most people struggle with mental health issues at some point in their life. Many people experience serious crises. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, that is okay. It just means you’re human.
I am not ashamed, but there are some personal details I don’t care to share with tens of thousands of strangers on the Internet or even hundreds of close supporters. I am under the care of a mental health professional. I am not in imminent danger. But I have had a difficult time functioning remotely normally in the past 45 days. I am coming back to normal functioning now and am catching up.
I am deeply sorry to all of you, especially those of you who have reached out to me and received no response, for going dark for so long. That wasn’t right. I hope you can forgive me and allow me the chance to make it up to you. Meanwhile, if you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, remember that you are not alone. Many of us have been there. There are resources to help you. If you need immediate help, visit https://988lifeline.org/get-help/ in the United States. I will provide links for other resources in the postscript below.
For the moment, I just want to let you all know that I am alive and that I am working quietly to catch up. You’ve already seen some back content pop up today. That will continue into the foreseeable future.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your concern. It has meant a great deal to me, even if it seemed like you were throwing it into the void.
Kind Regards,
Scott W. Rehm

P.S.: If you are struggling with mental health issues and aren’t sure where to turn, here’s some resources to look into. Do not give up. You are not alone.
First, for immediate help with a mental health crisis, dial 988 in the United States or visit The 988 Lifeline.
Next, speak to your primary care doctor. They will help you find mental health resources. That’s part of caring for you.
If your life situation makes it difficult to access mental health resource due, visit The National Alliance on Mental Illness. They specializing in helping folks access low-cost resources.
As an alternative to expensive remote therapy apps if your funds are tight, check out Open Path Psychotherapy Collective. They are a non-profit organization that provides access to online therapy for those who can’t afford other avenues.
Finally, if you’re simply facing some tough life challenges and need someone to talk to, consider contacting Stephen Ministries. They are a Christian organization dedicated to helping any and all members of the community deal with difficult life events. You do not need to be a Christian to receive their help. They will help anyone and their mission is simply to listen and help, not to proselytize or convert. They are just deeply kind, loving people — many of whom have struggled with difficult events themselves — who want to help anyone in need and have gone through a training program so they can assist others. I received care from a Stephen Ministries caregiver myself and, at the time, I had not yet turned to Christ. That didn’t matter to my caregiver or anyone I met involved in the Ministry. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I missed your excellent articles in the last month and am deeply relieved you are still with us. As a professional, I also very much appreciate your openness concerning mental health issues – and, as you surely know, you don’t have to apologize if that’s the reason for your withdrawal.
I’m gladly looking forward to catch up the missed articles some day and I take off my hat for your outstanding work here.
For what it’s worth, glad you’re still with us! Hang in there, and best of luck with both your physical and mental issues.
