In 1983, Laura and Tracy Hickman reinvented vampires into something fresh, new, and different. It’s too bad they were a century too late.

The GM Word of the Week is produced and performed by Fiddleback of The Mad Adventurers Society and written by The Angry GM of this site right here that you are reading.

  1. Great epsiode maybe my favourite so far. I would just like to add that Eastern Roman empire was never refered as Holly Eastern Roman empire, the title holly was used only on the west after great schism in 1054 to show their difference from in their opinion heretic empire on the east.

  2. Definitely a great one. I’m glad you take the time to research to the depth that you do. I envision you going in click-loop starting with one subject, ending on another, and having to force yourself to go backwards to find what you were actually looking for. Multiple times. Been there.

Vlad has always been an interesting character to me, not for his fame, but for the stuff you mentioned in today’s episode: the more realistic, probably lesser-known ‘truths’ or as close as we’ll get to the truth with him.

  3. Loved the episode, but I’ve got to say I miss the old introductions. You know, where there would some snippet that sounded like actual, in game dialogue using the word of the week? Those always made me smile, and got me all excited to hear the rest of the episode.
